Sleeping and Dreaming
What happens when we sleep and why it happens can be somewhat of a mystery. Sleep researchers have studied sleep as best as they can, but still there is a lot that remains debated or simply unknown.
This section is not intended to answer all of the deep scientific questions about sleep and dreaming, but it is designed to offer an overview of sleep and dreaming for someone looking to learn a little bit more of what happens when we close our eyes at night.

When we sleep, whether we remember them or not we know that we all have dreams. However the purpose of dreaming is something that is not fully agreed on by the scientific community. Some of the different ideas or theories for why we dream can be found here.
While not everyone agrees about why we have dreams in the first place, most people believe that our dreams have meaning and that those meanings can be interpreted.
